If I could share a closet with anyone in the world it would undoubtedly be Daphne Guinness.  Born into an aristocratic Irish family, Daphne Guinness is as famous for her style as she is for her bloodline. The European heiress, who was briefly married to Spyros Niarchos (son to the Greek shipping billionaire Stavros Niarchos), has been an illustrious style icon for as long as I’ve been alive. Daphne loves to wear all of my favourite things —  feathers, sequins and miniskirts. She also boasts one of the most enviable haute couture collections of anyone in the world. I admire her avant-garde fashion choices, and respect her love of fashion.

A Few Favorites From LookBook

lookbook.nu is one of my new favorite sites. It’s a international website where stylists, photographers, and fashion lovers can post their unique looks. You have to apply and be accepted in order to post pictures because they are very professional, but you can add “hype” or stars to how much you like a picture/look. It’s definitely worth checking out and gets very addicting. This site is also VERY inspirational for your own style.

While looking on one of my favorite fashion sites http://lookbook.nu, I found a picture of what looks a lot like the new dress I got at Urban and got really excited.  The black design is a little different but it looks so similar. Look below for my earlier post about my new dress.

Who is Jenna Dewan?

Step Up has been on my movie list ever since it came out, but I still haven’t gotten around to seeing it. Although I know who Channing Tatum is, I had never heard the name “Jenna Dewan“. So when I read on people that Tatum was engaged to this Dewan person… you could understand my surprise. Who is she? Why does she get Channing Tatum? And then I realized she was his costar in Step Up. After doing some stalking, I decided i really like her. Dewan hasn’t been in much else – she mostly did modeling before Step Up but she truly is beautiful and I approve of her and Channing.

Lily Allen For Chanel

Lily Allen is now a spokesperson for Chanel handbags. There was a lot of controversy over this ad campaign because a lot of people didn’t think that Allen was ‘classy’ enough for Chanel. But I think she pulled it off beautifully. I LOVE the Audrey Hepburn look.

Getting Ready For Paris

So I figured if I I’m going to be working in the fashion capital of the world and hopefully in the fashion industry, I should get a few things that are à la mode. So, I went on a shopping spree the other day and made a few purchases…

Wizard Cotton Dress from French Connection – $148. I actually bought this for my Spring Formal… thinking a little too much ahead….

Style Icon: Kat Von D

Kat Von D may not be your typical style icon – she doesn’t attend fashion shows or wear the latest designers but she is iconic in her own way. Instead of being stylish with her clothing, she is stylish with her body. Kat’s body is covered in elaborate tattoos – some designed by herself. Although more permanent, her style is definitely unique and different.

I personally like her facial tattoos – the stars on the side of her eye and the lightning bolt on her cheek. Each tattoo makes up an outfit for Kat… which will take a lifetime to finish. I’ve become a huge fan of her TV show LA Ink (on TLC) – I didn’t watch Miami Ink though. At first sight, you may think Kat is a hardcore “rocker chick” but once you watch the show, you realize how down to earth she actually is. Kat has also written a book “High Voltage Tattoo” which I want to read – it talks about her life, her tattoos, and even has her sketches in it.

Aside from her tattoos, I also love her hair – which she changes frequently. But it’s usually pitch black and layered (obviously I would love it). All in all, Kat Von D is a huge style icon of me.
