Natalie Portman’s 2011 Golden Globes Acceptance Speech

So so happy for Natalie Portman on her win for Best Actress. You can tell how grateful she was in her speech – I especially love the part where she thanks her fiancé.

If you haven’t seen Black Swan yet – do it!

Richard Phillips

Nylon Magazine just wrote a blog post about one of Richard Phillips’ newest pieces – a portrait of Kirsten Stewart. This portrait looks very similar to her Nylon Cover (just flipped). See below:

What do you think?

These portraits are part of Phillips’ new “Most Wanted” exhibition – in which he paints young Hollywood Icons. Here are few other examples of his work:

If you are a Gossip Girl fan, you may recognize this painting hanging in the Van Der Woodsen penthouse:

Top Posts of 2010

Although various different posts and topics drive people to, there are a few specific people and subjects I must recognize for giving this website so much traffic.

Erin Lucas

Since first posting about her, she has continuously been the number 1 read post. Even after leaving The City, people are still interested in who she is and what she’s doing. Read her Style Icon post here.

Mila Kunis

Ever since the premier of Black Swan, Mila Kunis has been a huge search item for Fashionspirations. Clearly, by all the recognition and popularity she is gaining from Black Swan, this really was a break-through role for her. See her at The Book Of Eli Premier Here.

Alessandra Torresani

This Caprica actress is a huge traffic driver ever since I posted about her leopard dress at The Young Hollywood Party.

Provocative Fashion

Provocative Fashion, or some variation of this wording, has also been a huge search item. I guess I can’t be too surprised since I do post a lot of Maxim editorials, along with various lingerie and risqué photo shoots. So thank you, controversial fashion editorials.

Natalie Portman in Lanvin for H&M

One of my all time favorite actresses, Natalie Portman, wore a gorgeous one-shouldered black dress by Lanvin for H&M to the Gotham Independent Film Awards.

How much was this dress? Only $199. While most celebrities are draped in $199,000 dresses on the red carper, Portman chooses a dress that looks just as beautiful as any Chanel or Dolce couture gown. In love.

Side Note: Her new movie, Black Swan, comes out tomorrow!!

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld’s 30th Birthday

Last Friday night, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld celebrated her 30th birthday at New York City’s Indochine. Julia wore a beautiful red lace dressed designed specifically for her by Peter Dundas of Pucci. Her mother, Carine Roitfeld, was also donned in black lace.

Happy Birthday Julia!

I Wish I Could Pull Off…

Combat Boots.

Oh, how badly I wish I could wear a pair of combat boots. But no, I look like a really bad version Private Benjamin. Although I wasn’t such a fan at first, this trend has definitely grown on me – especially when worn with a dress. (Why can’t I pull it off?!)

I’ll admit, they first caught my attention in the music video for “Love The Way You Lie” – leave it to Megan Fox to make combat boots look hot. And although seemingly white trash, they do look good with cut off denim shorts.

I’d also encourage you to leave the laces untied (at the risk of tripping) for a cuter effect.
