I just read about this 3 day festival in Sussex celebrating music, film, fashion, art, and design – basically ALL of my favorite things. And Lily Allen will be there! If only I could go…
“Each day bands will take to the various stages, sectioned into decades. So swing by Let it Rock for a 50s-style dance-along, or The Warehouse 80s stage to hear the likes of Danny Rampling spinning their magic on the decks. The main stage will play host to artists like Noisettes and legends Heaven 17, and there’s even a roller disco where you can strap on your skates and whiz about for a bit.
When you’re not dancing your socks off you can take a stroll down the film set Highstreet, and stop off to buy groceries, or pop into Lily Allen and Sarah Owen’s vintage venture Lucy in Disguise, which is launching at the festival. Then, when you’re ready to hit the hay you can choose from vintage caravans, local hotels or – our personal favourite – Glamping. Glam camping, which involves sleeping in Egyptian cotton in wildly elaborate tents sounds right up our street!”
Will any of my British followers please go and report back to me???
Taylor Momsen wore these clear platform heels with A TIP JAR in the platform at her performance at The Warped Tour. Along with her garters and corset-dress… she was looking a little like she belonged more on stage at a strip club than at a concert.
UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has banned a number of Diesel’s new “Be Stupid” advertisements.
“The ASA said the racy ads were indecent, could be seen by children and might encourage bad behavior. But Diesel said that the ads weren’t offensive and “did not contain any provocative nudity beyond the usual amounts shown in many swimwear, sportswear or lingerie ads.”
– The Huffington Post
Although these ads are seen as inappropriate and racy to some, it actually won the Grand Prix Lion for the outdoor category at the recent Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. That’s kind of a big deal…
I can see how some people may see these ads as offensive, but I think it appeals to Diesel’s target audience. People who buy Diesel clothing are often risqué and flirtatious.
What do you think?
Madonna is creating an 80’s inspired clothing line for Macy’s called “Material Girl”. I would say it’s a pretty appropriate name. And who better to design 80’s inspired clothes than the symbol of lace, pearls, finger-less gloves, and spandex shorts? (AKA Madonna).
The collection will be in Macy’s August 3rd. Taylor Momsen is rumored to be the face of “Material Girl” – perhaps her style is a little more rocker/goth – but she still has the 80’s thing going on.
This spread reminds me of Hermoine Granger in a weird way…
Kristen Stewart is looking amazing at the LA Film Festival. And I love that she changes into comfy converse for the Q&A.
